Featured Author - Sarah A. Kenney

Welcome to the 2nd Meet The Author Q&A

This month we are featuring Sarah A. Kenney as our guest Author.

A little bit about Sarah Kenney -

I started writing when I was 13 years old. I wasn't much of a reader, I had only liked to read classic literature like Hemingway and Jane Austen, but my love for reading has grown more as I have written. What inspired me to write was my nightmares, most of my novels are all inspired by my nightmares. The Devils Curse Novels were created from a nightmare I had that I woke up from and wrote the entire ending of Devils Fall. "Sleepwalker" was inspired by a nightmare I had that originally inspired me to write "The Keyhole" which was a 3 pg short story that is a major scene in "Sleepwalker" and inspired the series name "The Keyhole Novels."

Some other author related stuff, I write something everyday. Whether it relates to a story I'm working on or not. Poetry is my prompt to get re-inspired to write a full length story when I have writers block and my favorite character, the one in all of my nightmares, lives in a series that I have 4 novels written but are unpublished.

Q1. In terms of the work you do, what aspects are you most passionate about? Why?
A1. I would say in terms of the work I do, I am most passionate about creating a story that will touch the readers and make them feel what the character is feeling. This was my biggest goal while writing "Sleepwalker" I wanted people to feel everything she felt and was experiencing on a personal level even if they may not have lived a similar situation.

* Check out my review on Sleepwalker.

Q2. What do you consider some of your biggest professional and personal accomplishments? How did your attributes contribute to those accomplishments?
A2. As an author, one of my biggest accomplishments that stands out to me is very recent, I was asked to be an Ambassador for Women who Write GR in my home state teaching and supporting other female authors to overcome writers block, getting the first draft, keeping a consistent voice and much more we were able to discuss.
I also think one of my biggest accomplishments that some people may not consider an accomplishment is having taught myself everything about the self publishing industry, its an industry that you have to keep moving and changing or you will be lost in the sea of eBooks. Writing is quite literally my life.

Q3. What is your dream for the future?
A3. My current dream for the future is to release my next series that I have been writing for 9 years, it is a story that is my absolute favorite and has been with me a long time so to see that get a breath of life will be very exciting for me personally.
I am hoping to start a writing workshop later this year to help aspiring writers and authors have less anxiety about writing their stories as well.
