On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

My Review*

This book, WOW! A happy couple soon faces the struggle of both becoming unemployed. Well, it's not really a struggle for Amy since she has quite the trust fund. But after her parents borrow most of it and Nick borrows the rest to start a bar after they move back to his home town to help care for his sick mom, what's left for Amy. Still she has their 5 year anniversary to look forward to. Except that on that special day she ends up missing. All signs point to Nick, a not so wonderful husband. It's always the husband, isn't it.

This book switches between Nick and Amy's point of view. Remember, what you see isn't always as it appears and what you read isn't always the truth.
